Lan Zhaaaan!

[He flushes, sinking lower in the tub. How can he talk like that? Flirtation came easily to Wei Wuxian, but that was part of a game. It was much harder to dismiss when he knew Lying is Forbidden and that Lan Zhan meant every word.

He looks up, a bubbly hand reaching back to stroke the side of Lan Zhan's face, and his grin widens at the trail of suds he's left behind.]

You're my favorite.

[ That's good, because they are about to get married. Lan Wangji should be his favorite.

He does take this opportunity of movement to put just a little distance between them, only so he can wash Wei Ying's back. ]

And you, Wei Ying... you are mine.

[He leans forward, compliant for once, and gathers his hair over his shoulder so Lan Zhan can wash his back more easily. The words are enough to make him smile childishly, even if Lan Zhan can't see it. He can't remember the last time he was someone's favorite anything, and it makes him feel a warmth in his chest that's only partly due to the alcohol.]

Even when I'm annoying?

[ He plants a kiss on Wei Ying's shoulder and reminds him: ]

That's all the time.

[ And certainly, when they were younger. But that didn't stop him from falling head over heels in love. ]

Mm, it's one of my most charming points!

[He tilts his head back, still a little wobbly.]

Lan Zhan, if you keep kissing me, I'll never want to leave the tub.

[ If he knew it would be like this, he might have said something earlier. ]

Then I won't.

[ Leave the tub? Or kiss him? He's in the middle of scrubbing Wei Ying's arms now, and then he's just got the legs left.

And the back of his ears.

And, well, he thinks he'd better let Wei Ying wash himself for the rest. ]

I'll get all pruny...

[He sighs, letting himself relax in the warm, bubbly water. If he were sober, he might have kicked up a little more fuss about Lan Zhan continuing to wash him, as if he's a kid who can't be trusted to do it himself. But it does feel nice, reminds him of those thorough hands in the spa, and he lets his eyes slip closed.]

[ He isn't a little kid, but Lan Wangji does just like to take care of him, provide for him. And right now, that he's drunk, it's like having a child to care for all over again.

Don't get him wrong, he does miss those days. ]

I'll make this quick.

[ He does, even as he does a thorough job, softly brushing at Wei Ying's skin. Only after he's well and satisfied does he start to bathe himself. ]

Mm'kay...

[He barely fidgets, on the verge of sleep as Lan Zhan finishes helping him bathe. Wei Wuxian leans on the edge of the tub, propping his head on an elbow and dozing lightly. Aside from a few little mumbles and twitches, he's gone fairly quiet, content to just lay here.

It takes a moment before he relaxes enough that he starts to slip deeper into the tub, only to startle back into wakefulness when his balance is offset. He blinks blearily, rubbing at his eyes.]

[ Lan Wangji stops what he's doing immediately and gets up, pulling the drain of the tub and trying to help his silly new child out of it. ]

We're done. Come with me.

[ He reaches for some towels to help. He thinks that this might be the first time that Wei Ying has fallen asleep before Lan Wangji. ]

[Wei Wuxian manages to clamber out of the tub, only while leaning heavily on Lan Zhan, and tries to clumsily wrap a towel around himself. It's a bit easier to stay awake, when he's not warm and content, and his legs have stopped wobbling quite as much.

It's colder though, and he throws another towel around his shoulders before putting his arms around Lan Zhan's neck, hugging onto his back like a sleepy child.]

Bed now?

Bed now.

[ He turns in Wei Ying's arms and tries to help him towel off his hair. If needed, he'll distract him with plenty of soft kisses, so he doesn't fall asleep with wet hair.

But when they're nice and dry, he wraps Wei Ying in one of those plush robes and ushers him over to bed to properly tuck him in. ]

[He manages to stay awake, while Lan Zhan towels his hair dry, though not without nodding off a couple times. Wei Wuxian doesn't doze for long though, with kisses to distract him every so often. It feels unfair for Lan Zhan to tease him like this, when his heart is willing, but body so easily brought to this drunken and tired state.

He's sure there's things he should clarify, should have talked with Lan Zhan about, and hadn't Lan Zhan seemed worried about something? Bunnies, maybe? Couldn't have been that important if he can't recall it. He lets Lan Zhan lead him to bed, only to lay down haphazardly across the sheets. He yawns once, curling around a pillow and reaching out a hand toward Lan Zhan's robe.]

Lan Zhan... you'll stay with me, right?

[ It is almost bedtime anyway, so Lan Wangji climbs into bed once his hair is reasonably dry, and curls up with Wei Ying. ]

Of course.

[ As if there was any question. He knows during the night, they'll shift and he'll have pulled Wei Ying on top of him. He supposes he'll just have to brace himself, if Wei Ying gets sick. ]

Go to sleep, Wei Ying. We will talk in the morning.

[It's a good hour or so later when he finally wakes, sweating, head throbbing, and nausea roiling in a way he hasn't felt since he was a teenager who didn't know his own limits. He's wrapped in Lan Zhan's arms, and it takes a panicked moment to try to untangle himself while keeping the contents of his stomach down.

He nearly trips over the blankets and his own feet as he fumbles out of bed and races for the bathroom, retching sounds following soon after.]

[ Lan Wangji, unlike Wei Ying, is a light sleeper, and wakes up almost immediately. He climbs out of bed and follows Wei Ying into the bathroom, reaching for his hair and gently pulling it back into a ponytail, tying it up out of his face, rubbing his back. ]

[It takes a few minutes before his stomach stops lurching, and he's left leaning abysmally on the porcelain bowl, head cradled on one elbow, legs a sprawl beneath him. Why can't they just have normal liquor with normal hangovers?

He's vaguely aware that his hair isn't hanging down into the bowl, which is definitely a blessing, and the steady gentle pressure on his back soothing, even if his head doesn't stop pulsing painfully against his skull. Definitely shouldn't have had one more drink...

The room feels too bright, scents too strong, even his skin feels overly sensitive.]

Shijie... water, please?

[ He doesn't even freeze, and murmurs a soft mm before going to go get him a cup of water from the thermos he keeps by the bed. He always heats it up in his pot and pours it into a receptacle for keeping at a nice room temperature.

He hands it to Wei Ying, and continues to rub his back, feeling sorry for him that he will sober up and remember his Shijie is no longer around. ]

What did I drink?

[He sighs pitifully, memories of the rave a loud and colorful blur, much less important than the tepid cup of water in his hands. Keeping his eyes lightly closed, he takes small sips, making sure his stomach won't rebel before drinking a little more. He sets the glass next to him, folding his arms on the toilet seat before resting his head against them.]

I don't know. It was strong.

[ He lets go of Wei Ying, but stays here with him. ]

More water.

[ He nudges the glass forward. ]

[Even if Lan Wangji barely speaks at a conversational level, it feels booming and thunderous in his skull, and he puts up a hand, making soft shushing noises.]

Water, right, water...

[He opens his eyes a crack, fumbling for the glass, fingers brushing against Lan Zhan's before he finds it and gets a solid grip.]

Ugh... everything hurts.

[He blinks a few times, seeming to realize where he is, if distantly so, and takes a longer sip, letting it settle for a moment.]

Lan Zhan...? Will you.. mm... lend me your lap for a little?

[ He nods, careful not to make too loud noise in case Wei Ying reacts like that again, and gently guides him down towards his lap. He also turns the lights off, so it's not too light for him.

Then he sits on his bathroom floor, Wei Ying's head in his lap, gently carding through his hair, trying to keep him from moving too much. ]

[How could alcohol have betrayed him like this?! He takes a long pull of his water glass, close to draining it, before he hands it off clumsily.]

Lan Zhan...

[He gives a sigh of relief when the lights go out, and lets himself be led into Lan Zhan's lap, grateful for the cool tile, even if it's hard an unyielding. And the gentle hands in his hair are calming, a balm to his pounding headache.]

M'sorry...

[He curls in on himself, just a bit smaller, his hand reaching up to grasp the hem of Lan Zhan's robe and holds on.]

For what?

[ His voice is gentle, barely audible for Wei Ying's sake, as he calmly continues carding his hands through Wei Ying's hair, taking it out of the ponytail.

He had known tonight would end like this, and despite his insistence to Wei Ying that he stop drinking, doesn't mind. He will always take care of Wei Ying. He hadn't lied; he relishes being the one that gets the privilege to do so. ]

[He turns slightly and mumbles something unintelligible into Lan Zhan's lap.]

-an' making a mess.

[Wei Wuxian clings a little tighter where his fingers tangle in Lan Wangji's robe. His words are slurred and childish.]

But... Lan Zhan hasn't been mad even once since I got here. He's the best n' he... I didn't even tell him how pretty he is... and perfect... and... even got hurt lotsa times... an' I keep worrying that... Lan Zhan'll wake up n'... change his mind or... have regrets... cuz he could have anyone... n' not just... a mess.
